Easter 20.04.2025. Easter, Bright Resurrection Of Christ

Part I. historical significance of Easter.

Easter ,or the resurrection of Christ, is one of the most important and ancient Christian holidays, which has a deep spiritual, historical and cultural meaning. Its roots go not only to the events described in the New Testament, but also much deeper – to the Jewish tradition, from which the very word “Passover” (HEB. Passover) originates.

as it was historically, from the Jewish Passover to the Christian one.

the Jewish Passover marks the liberation of the Israeli people from Egyptian slavery. According to the biblical account in Exodus, The Lord, through the Prophet Moses, freed his people by leading them across the Red Sea to the Promised Land. On the night before the exit, the Angel of death “passed by” (Hebrew Passover), who struck all the firstborn in Egypt, but bypassed the Houses of the Jews marked with the blood of the Lamb – a sacrificial symbol.

this event eventually became the prototype of the saving sacrifice of Jesus Christ, The Lamb of God, who by his death and resurrection overcame death and sin, freeing humanity from spiritual slavery.

events that became the basis of Christian Easter.

Easter itself in the Christian sense is the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion on the cross. This is the central event of the entire Christian faith. The Apostle Paul says, “but if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:14).

according to the Gospels, Jesus was crucified on Friday, his body was buried, and on Sunday morning, myrrh-bearing women found an empty tomb. The angel announced to them, ” he is not here – he is risen!”It was these words that became a symbol of the triumph of life over death, light over darkness.

the first celebration and establishment of Easter.

the first Christians celebrated the resurrection of Christ every Sunday, but over time there was a tradition of an annual big celebration in the spring. The question of the exact date of easter caused controversy between Christians of the East and West, which was resolved at the first Council of Nicaea in 325. It was found that Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the spring full moon, which occurs after the spring equinox.

since then, the holiday has acquired a solemn and symbolic character, intertwining with local cultures, but preserving the main essence – the victory of life.

Part II. Easter today 2025: traditions, symbolism and living spirit of the holiday

although more than two thousand years have passed since those events, Easter remains the most important Christian holiday. It is deeply rooted in the culture, art, traditions and heart of every believer.

spiritual preparation is Lent.

the celebration of Easter is preceded by lent – a forty-day period of spiritual purification, prayer, repentance and abstinence. Its apogee is Holy Week – The Last Days before Passover, when the last events of Christ’s earthly life are remembered: The Last Supper, Judas ‘ betrayal, passion, crucifixion and burial.

every day of this week has its own deep meaning, and special services are held in churches. Especially impressive is the service of Great Friday, when the 12 Gospels of The Passion of Christ are read, as well as the rite of taking out the shroud on Saturday.

Easter night for the climax of light.

on the night from Saturday to Sunday, churches are filled with believers who come to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. The service begins at midnight – in darkness, a symbol of death, but with the first proclamation “Christ is risen!”the temple is filled with light, joy, singing and the gospel.

this symbolizes that even in the deepest darkness, light always wins. People with candlelight come out of temples – as carriers of God’s light to the world.

traditions of celebration in Ukraine.

Ukraine has deep traditions of celebrating Easter, which are a symbiosis of Christian and ancient folk customs. The focus is on family, joint prayer, mutual forgiveness and, of course, the Easter basket.

it contains symbolic dishes:

  • Easter-rich bread, a symbol of the body of Christ.
  • Krashenki and pysanki-eggs as a symbol of new life, resurrection.
  • sausages, butter, cheese – a symbol of prosperity and joy of the holiday after lent.
  • candle-a symbol of Christ’s light.

the consecration of baskets takes place on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. After that – a festive table, family unity, as well as a traditional greeting:
– Christ Is Risen!
– truly risen!

symbolism and meaning for modern man

easter is not just a day in the calendar, but a state of mind. In the postmodern era, full of uncertainty, anxiety and moral fatigue, this holiday reminds us of the main thing: darkness does not have the last word. Love and Life win.

the symbols of Easter – Fire, light, Egg, Easter – all speak of rebirth, hope, a new beginning. This is an opportunity to stop, look deep into yourself, forgive and accept forgiveness, feel the joy of being, faith in the eternal.

easter is not only a historical event, but also a living reality. Its importance is not lost over time, but on the contrary – it becomes even more important. As before, today it unites millions of people in prayer, joy and the belief that life wins.

resurrection of Christ at school and kindergarten AISU

The Feast of the resurrection of Christ, or Easter, is not just an outstanding date in the church calendar. This is a deeply symbolic event that embodies the main human values: love, mercy, forgiveness, the victory of good over evil, light over darkness. It is these values that are embedded in the educational philosophy of AISU – a school and kindergarten that combines academic excellence with caring for the child’s soul.

AISU is not just a learning space. This is a large family where every child feels warmth, acceptance, support and spiritual growth. Our approach is based on true human and family values that shape the character and worldview of future generations.

values leading to Harmony.

in today’s world, where technology is developing at lightning speed, and the rhythm of life is becoming faster, it is extremely important not to lose what makes us human – kindness, honesty, respect for our neighbor, love for family and native land. At AISU, we raise children based on just such values.

The Feast of the resurrection of Christ is the perfect moment to remind every child:

  • about the power of faith,
  • about how important it is to be a light for others,
  • about the happiness of living in peace and harmony with the people around you.

the power of traditions and spiritual unity.

AISU sincerely supports and cherishes National, Family and Christian traditions. They are not archaism, but a bridge between generations that forms strong roots in the child’s heart. Faith in good, in eternal life, in the ability to change the world – this is what we convey to children not only in words, but also by example.

easter is not only a symbol of the resurrection of Christ, but also a symbol of rebirth in the heart of every person, hope for a new beginning. That is why we at AISU celebrate it especially warmly, sincerely, and with inspiration.

How do we celebrate Easter in our school? Only warmth, creativity and unity.

AISU is a place where every holiday turns into an unforgettable event, and every day is filled with meaning. Easter is not an exception, but rather the culmination of the spiritual calendar.

we believe that children best understand and accept values through emotions, creativity, good deeds, and shared joy. Therefore, our Easter events are not just formal events, but a living tradition filled with love, vivid impressions and mutual understanding.

at AISU kindergarten, the first steps into the world of spirituality.

in the smallest hearts, we sow the seeds of faith and kindness through simple but very warm forms:

Easter lessons-kindness, where children listen to stories about Christ, friendship, forgiveness, and family love.

  • Творчі creative workshops: painting Easter Eggs, making Easter cards, decorating baskets. Every work is a piece of a child’s soul.
  • Святкові festive matinees and performances where the joyful ” Christ Is Risen!”and children dance, sing and recite poems, passing on their light to their parents.

such activities help children develop emotional sensitivity, respect for traditions, and the ability to express good feelings.

AISU school has a conscious celebration and spiritual depth.

for school students, the celebration of Easter has an even deeper meaning. We strive to make every child understand that Easter is not only about colored eggs, but above all about internal renewal.

our students participate in:

  • духов spiritual conversations about the meaning of the Resurrection, about moral choices, about the meaning of faith in the modern world.
  • круг round tables on the topics: “What is Easter for me?”how does the light of Christ change us?».
  • ️ ️ charity initiatives-raising funds for those in need, making gifts for the elderly, supporting soldiers. This is the embodiment of the spirit of Mercy in practice.

unity of the entire AISU family.

A special feature of the celebration of Easter in AISU is the unity of the entire community: children, parents, teachers and educators. We celebrate together-like a big family. This is a time when all worries are forgotten, borders are erased – and only common joy remains.

during a joint Festive Fair or Easter concert, words of love, hope and faith are heard. Children see the example of adults, feel the unity of generations, and become carriers of good themselves.

the Feast of the resurrection of Christ in AISU is not just a day on the calendar. This is the state of mind of the whole school and kindergarten. We educate not just students and pupils – we form hearts that are able to love, empathize, believe and make the world around us a better place.
